In the spirit of the Crowbar Awards, a three day Crowbar festival will be held from the 23rd to the 25th of July. In line with 4As’ aim to nurture and discover talents for the creative industry, an Advertising Boot Camp will take place at MIS' campus from 23rd to 24th July. To wrap up the festival, the Crowbar Awards Ceremony will be held on the 25th of July at Orchard Hotel.

Last year’s inaugural Breaking In Workshop received positive response and feedback, hence the 4As decided to raise the bar by evolving it into a 24-hour Boot Camp.  Participants will be locked up during the 24 hours to work on a brief whilst being mentored by creative professionals. Some of them include Ali Shabaz of JWT and Goh Wee Kim of McCann Erickson.

Crowbar Awards 2008 Co-Chairman, Victor Ng said, The Crowbar Boot Camp simulates real agency conditions of coming up with great ideas against crazy deadlines. It also helps debunk the fallacy that advertising is all glitz and glamour."

"It is a good chance for us to scope the good works of up and coming young talents, and also an excellent opportunity for creative directors to impart their knowledge to the students," added Co-Chairman Jon Loke.

Students will be presented with an opportunity of a lifetime to be ‘taught a lesson or two’. Participants will discover how it is like to work under stressful conditions while achieving high creative standards, similar to working in the real world through this Boot Camp.
