Singapore, 24 April, 2006 - The Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Singapore (4As) held its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, April 20, 2006, during which a new Executive Committee was elected.

Serving as President and First Vice President for a second term are Anthony Kang and Eric Teng respectively. Teng, director of Joint Communications, was also re-elected as First Vice President.

Elected as Second Vice President was Initiative Media’sJulie Tilley who served as Chairperson of the Media Committee last year. Tilley is well known for spearheading the successful inaugural Singapore Media Awards last year.

Serving as Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasurer are two familiar faces. Mediatron Advertising’s Faith Gay will be the Honorary Secretary while Vincent Hoe of AG Advertising will take on the role as Honorary Treasurer.

The members also elected five individuals to serve on the Executive Committee. Three of the five are faces who have served on the previous committee. They are City Life’s Phyllis Chua, Blue Interactive Marketing’s James Miner and Republic Advertising’s Steven Ong.

Two fresh faces elected onto the Executive Committee were Ogilvy and Mather’s Stephen Maugham and The Alchemy Partnership’s Chris Foo.

To add depth, the newly elected Executive Committee unanimously co-opted two members to help drive the association’s future plans and activities. They were Ken Mandel of Neo@Ogilvy and Edna Aw of OMD.

All the newly elected Executive Committee members will serve a period of two years until the next AGM in 2008.

In closing his report for the year, Kang mentioned that he foresee more challenges ahead and he hoped that with the assistance and support of his new ExCo members he would be able to continue his vision of re-shaping the 4As to make it more relevant to members and better recognized and respected as a professional trade body of the ad industry.
